As part of efforts to showcase Dubai as a hub for destination weddings, the city hosted the 5th edition of the Dubai Global Wedding Excellence (GWE) retreat and forum.
The event took place on the 9th and 10th of January and was successful.
Over 70 international wedding planners, experts, and companies from key source markets attended the event, providing a platform for these industry experts to network, share ideas, and exchange best practices.

The GWE event highlighted Dubai’s vibrant culinary landscape, the array of distinctive city wedding locations, and many of Dubai’s over 794 luxurious hotels. Hotels that participated in the event included Atlantis, The Palm; Waldorf Astoria, Dubai Palm Jumeirah; Nikki Beach Resort & Spa; The Ritz-Carlton, among others.
In addition to a broad portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts, Dubai offers a multitude of stunning backdrops and world-famous landmarks for wedding celebrations, including the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, Museum of the Future, and Ain Dubai.
The city also offers lovely weather and an environment with year-round sunshine, a sparkling cityscape, beautiful sandy beaches, lush green gardens, rolling dunes, and stunning mountain views.
From January – November 2022, Dubai welcomed 12.82 million international overnight visitors, a reflection of the remarkable resilience the city has shown in rebounding from the impact of global challenges.
