A female cruiser has died after falling down from the top balcony of a Virgin Voyages cruise ship.
The ship, named the Valiant Lady, departed from Miami port on Sunday at around 6 pm. Almost immediately after, the yet-to-be unidentified passenger fell from the ship’s upper balcony.
According to eyewitnesses, the passenger fell about 10 stories to her death.
Virgin Voyages expressed its regret over the incident. “We are deeply saddened by this loss of life and our hearts and thoughts are with this person’s loved ones,” a spokesperson for the company said.
The cruise ship was headed for Roatan, Honduras but made a U-turn back to Miami after the incident.
Virgin Voyagers are currently investigating the cause of the fatal fall.
