Saudia Arabia Steps Into The Metaverse Along With A Digital Tourism Strategy

Saudi Arabia is set to host the 22nd Annual World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit in Riyadh tomorrow (28th November). The summit, which will last for a period of 3 days, will be live-streamed for general audiences who can also tune in via the metaverse.

The metaverse experience forms an essential part of Saudi Arabia’s three-year Digital Tourism strategy and is specifically tailored to be accessible, and engaging, and provide insight into how the metaverse can be leveraged to give a unique experience for those attending physically as well as for its virtual attendants. As is the case with most who are familiar with the metaverse, people attending can choose their avatars and watch the summit in a virtual space, as well as set up appointments with exhibitors.

This summit will pave the way for users to see how Saudi Arabia integrates technology to showcase itself as a potential tourism destination. Users will also be able to watch highlights of the session and discuss trending topics in real-time with other users around the world via their avatars, or through voice and text chat.
