The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has lifted all COVID-19 restrictions for international air travel into the country.
A statement issued by the CAAB said that travelers arriving in Bangladesh from outside the country will no longer be required to fill an online Health Declaration Form, nor will they need to provide an RT-PCR test report or a Card or Certificate to prove that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Other restrictions regarding the wearing of face masks, maintaining social distancing, and most standard preventive measures against the spread of the virus have also been lifted.
Healthcare workers and other frontline staff working in high-risk places like hospitals and clinics, alongside people with low immunity who are highly susceptible to the virus, are still mandated to wear face masks as part of precautionary measures.
People traveling out of Bangladesh to other countries are advised to take the necessary precautions in line with the conditions set by the countries to which they are traveling.
The CAAB’s statement also gave special advice to prospective Hajj pilgrims, who are required to follow any precautionary measures set by the government of Saudi Arabia while preventing direct contact with camels in order to prevent the spread of the MARS.
